A delegation from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) led by the Authority’s Managing Director (MD), Capt. Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu, recently paid a condolence visit to the Chairman of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), Dr. Wale Babalakin SAN, following the passing of his father, retired Justice Bolarinwa Babalakin.

As he received the delegation at his home in Lagos, Dr. Babalakin, who could not hide his excitement, expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government for sending a previous delegation to condole with his family, including eight (8) governors who made it to the Fidaus.

“I was stunned when I got a call from the Office of the Chief of Staff that a delegation led by Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) was coming on behalf of the Federal Government. And I said this man (my late father) left service twenty-nine (29) years ago. So, we can never forget this sort of gratitude from the federal government.”

He went on to add, “And now it is moving; it is touching for our own partner, FAAN, to deem it fit to come and pay us condolence. We are extremely grateful. And our relationship from this day will become better and we would come to understand each other in a better way, for the furtherance of the business we do and to enhance human relations.”

On his part, Capt. Yadudu had this to say: “Pa Babalakin was an elder statesman. For us at FAAN and Bi-Courtney and for any other individual, it is first things first. We are all humans and Nigerians. We try never to forget that. At this time, we must work with people that are working with us. The relationship is first. We are both doing the same thing: delivering service to Nigerians; adding value to the industry. I think we should celebrate ourselves.”

After his speech, the MD said a prayer for the repose of the deceased’s soul and enjoined the family to take comfort in that the deceased had lived an exemplary life.
