It is with great excitement that the staff of Nigeria’s latest airline – United Nigeria Airlines – prepares to have its inaugural flight tomorrow Friday, February 12, 2021. This move comes after the operator received its Air Operators’ Certificate (AOC) yesterday from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) as proof of having fulfilled all regulatory requirements.
According to sources, the inaugural flight will be executed with the airline’s Embraer 145 aircraft, which is to take off from the domestic terminal – Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MM2) at Ikeja, Lagos and terminate at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu which is the carrier’s operational base.
The flight is then expected to take off from Enugu to Abuja and finally touchdown again in Lagos.
For now, regular routes/daily flight destinations for the new entrant will be Lagos, Abuja, Asaba and Enugu, while Owerri and Port Harcourt are expected to follow in the near future.
