In recognition of its accomplishments and service to the aviation industry and beyond, Air Peace has been honoured with the Achievement Award at the 2024 Awards Ceremony and Annual Dinner of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
The event which was held on Saturday May 4, 2024 at the Monarch Event Centre in Lagos was an opportunity to celebrate the milestones attained by West and Central Africa’s biggest carrier, Air Peace, including its most recently achieved milestone – the launching of its London route.
Capt. Godfrey Ogbogu, the Safety Manager for Air Peace who received the award on behalf of the airline praised the leadership of ICAN for upholding high professional standards in the accounting practice. He also thanked the institute for the award and reiterated Air Peace’ commitment to connecting destinations, providing a seamless travel experience for passengers and contributing to the nation’s economic growth.
The award comes on the heels of other accolades the airline recently received from the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Alfonso Browne who lauded Air Peace for its trail-blazing activities while also encouraging other Nigerian financiers to invest in the Caribbean nation – a sentiment which was echoed by Dr. Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, when he spoke about his investments in LIAT 2020:
“We are going long-haul with the government of Antigua and Barbuda and in the coming weeks or months, the LIAT birds will hit the Caribbean skies. I have invested there. I cannot mislead you”, he said.
Since inception, Air Peace has grown to become Nigeria’s biggest indigenous airline, adhering to its no-city-left-behind mantra; expanding destinations domestically and beyond in a bid to give the Nigerian flying public multiple network options.
