EgyptAir has announced that it has increased its frequency into Kano from three (03) to four (04) weekly flights operated by its newly introduced Airbus A330. This takes effect immediately beginning today April 14, 2022, with the Kano flights scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The General Manager (GM) of EgyptAir, Mr. Muharram Abdel Rahman made this known today during a press briefing at the EgyptAir Head Office in Lagos thus:

“Before now, EgyptAir used to operate three (03) flights into Kano. But it is our pleasure to inform you that with effect from April 14, 2022, we have increased our frequency into Kano to four (04) weekly flights on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We have also upgraded our aircraft on the route to an Airbus A330 which is equiped with onboard WIFI, personal charging ports, personal TV screens and increased legroom for all our passengers in economy in a 2-4-2 configuration”, he said.

As stated by the GM, EgyptAir has also upgraded ten (10) flights from Kano to widebody aircraft in order to accommodate the increase in passenger numbers usually recorded during the Umrah and Hajj seasons. This is in line with the carrier’s Flight Manoeuvering system whereby the airline alternates between widebody and narrow-body aircraft depending on the time of year, so as to minimize cost of operations.

According to the EgyptAir boss, efforts being made to sell Egypt as a Christian destination this Easter season have cumulated in the launching of a promotional offer through which Christian pilgrims will enjoy a 20% discount on their tickets to Cairo, where they are also spurred to stay for two (02) days to visit important religious and historical sites before connecting Tel Aviv, Oman and Jordan.
