The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) is set to hold the maiden edition of the National Aviation Conference themed, “Advancing the Frontiers of Possibilities for Safe, Secure and Profitable Air Transport.” The highly anticipated event is scheduled to hold from the 14th to the 17th of June, 2022 at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

According to a statement signed by the Acting General Manager of FAAN, Mrs. Faithful A. Hope-Ivbaze, the primary aim of the conference is to provide an avenue for assessing the progress registered in the Nigerian aviation industry thus far, while creating opportunities for investment in the sector as a means of putting the nation on a path to economic growth.

Sources say the event was initially scheduled for April of 2020 but could not be held at the time because of restrictions on public gatherings imposed due to the Corona Virus pandemic.

Notable personalities expected to grace the occasion are the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, State Governors, aviation technocrats, Chief Executives amongst others, who will convene to rub minds on pertinent issues such as Collaborative Service Delivery in the Nigerian Air Transport Industry: The Way Forward; Implementing Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM); Aviation and National Security: Emerging Trends; Addressing Nigeria’s Unviable Airport Syndrome et cetera.

The statement further reveals that the conference is also aimed at “addressing the future of Nigerian airports with respect to safety, security, innovations, financing, leasing, sustainability and growth” – all for the betterment of the Nigerian aviation sub-sector.
