The League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) recently held its elections and Mr. Idris Suleiman of the People’s Daily Newspapers emerged as the new Chairman. He took over the reins of the professional association of members of the fourth estate from the erstwhile Chairman, Mr. Segun Koiki of the Daily Independent Newspaper having completed his tenure of two terms of three (3) years each.

Basking in the euphoria of his resounding victory, Mr. Suleiman thanked fellow Journalists, industry stakeholders and well wishers for their support and reposing confidence on him to lead the group.

“I wish to on behalf of the new executive of the League of Airports and Aviation Correspondents and the entire family of LAAC express our very profound gratitude to you all for the outpouring of love, prayers, calls from within and outside the country and best wishes for the new leadership of the house which I am privileged to head at this auspicious time in the history of our beloved industry,” he said.

He remarked further that his emergence as the new Chairman of LAAC is a clarion call to duty for himself and his team of Executives to the overall development of the industry and the country at large.

Sharing his commitment to make a difference during his tenure, he noted that “For decades, LAAC has played its very significant role in the development and growth of the industry very well. Now that the baton has been passed unto me to lead an excellent team of seasoned, experienced, professional and well trained journalists at this time, the aviation industry is poised to witness a new level of media engagements and reportage.”

“We promise to continue to be worthy partners and stakeholders in the sector even as I also urge that we take our cherished symbiotic relationships a notch further. Together, we will take Nigeria Aviation Industry to Greater Heights,” he therefore assured.
