Nigeria’s longest-serving domestic airline, Overland Airways, has completed its fifth consecutive International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certification.
The successful completion of the audit, conducted in eight disciplines, reaffirms Overland Airways’ adherence to globally recognized safety standards. Initially certified in 2015, the airline has consistently maintained IOSA compliance.
According to Capt. Edward Boyo, the airline’s Accountable Executive and CEO, “The renewal of Overland Airways IOSA certification is an attestation of our commitment to operate according to the best international standards.”
The airline boss went on to add that the latest IOSA renewal validates the airline’s commitment, over the last two decades, to operate according to international benchmarks, ensuring safe flights across the carrier’s network.
Overland has evolved from an all-turboprop fleet to a mixed fleet, with recent fleet enhancements including the introduction of Embraer E175 jets. The airline has equally expanded its route network, with a significant move being the introduction of direct Lagos – Abuja flights in August 2024.
