The Chairman of Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc, Barr. (Dr.) Taiwo Afolabi has received the Award of Excellence from the Presidential Diary Magazine for his role in the provision of Aviation Support Services and Development in Nigeria.
The award ceremony took place in Abuja, during the 5th Anniversary Conference of the Magazine, where the winner of the prestigious award, Dr. Afolabi, was represented by the Managing Director/CEO of SAHCO Plc, Basil Agboarumi.
As stated by Novel Communications Ltd, publisher of Presidential Diary Magazine, Dr. Afolabi was given the award because he has demonstrated excellent leadership skills in his management of SAHCO Plc, which is today a ground handling company to be reckoned with.
Mr. Agboarumi who received the award on his Chairman’s behalf expressed gratitude for the award and assured the public of Dr. Afolabi’s dedication to always deliver first-rate service to his companies’ clients and to all humanity.
Dr. Afolabi who has a degree in law from the University of Lagos commenced his career with the Nigerian Express Agencies Limited (NEAL). After studying Shipping Management abroad, he returned to Nigeria and held the position of Head of Operations at NEAL before quitting in 1988 to open his own company, Sifax Nigeria Limited.
The company which is today known as Sifax Group offers a wide range of services in areas such as ship chartering, aviation, cargo consolidation, port operations, haulage and logistics, plant hire amongst others.
