TAAG Angola Airlines has marked a fresh milestone by introducing the Boeing 787-10 Dremaliner on its Luanda – Lisbon route, marking the aircraft’s first commercial operation on the airline’s European network and representing a new landmark in the modernisation of its long-haul fleet.
The Luanda – Lisbon service is TAAG’s flagship intercontinental route and the deployment of the Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on the route comes in the wake of the successful completion of the aircraft’s certification by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The achievement strengthens the TAAG’s ability to meet the growing demand for travel between Angola and Portugal while reinforcing its role in connecting Angola with key international markets.
The Boeing 787-10 will operate two weekly frequencies between Luanda and Lisbon on an initial phase, departing Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport on Friday and Saturday evenings, with the return services departing Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Flights to Lisbon consistently record one of the highest load factors across TAAG’s international network driven by the strong economic, institutional and cultural ties between the two countries, serving passengers travelling for business, tourism, and visits to family and friends making it the airline’s leading intercontinental destination.
The Boeing 787-10 had a capacity for 367 passengers with 24 Business Class Seats and 343 Economy Seats, the state-of-the-art aircraft comes with seats equipped with an individual next-generation in-flight entertainment system, while the Business Class cabin features fully lie-flat seats designed to provide superior comfort, privacy and rest throughout the journey.
Following this deployment, the Dreamliner family now operates TAAG services to Europe, Asia and the Americas, further consolidating the airline’s position as Angola’s national carrier, supporting mobility, trade, tourism, investment and the country’s economic development.
