ValueJet, the latest baby in the Nigerian aviation sector, is ready to kick start flight operations come Monday October 10, 2022 with daily flights to and from the cities of Jos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Asaba and Lagos. The management of the airline revealed this at the airline’s launch party recently.
Also stressed was the point that the carrier will be a hybrid one, offering low-cost services on the one hand and a Legacy option on the other, in order to make flying accessible to every segment of the population.
According to the Chairman of ValueJet, Kunle Soname, “Our fleet of modern and efficient CRJ-900s is ready. We can boast of a resolute professional workforce capable of delivering end-to-end customer experience backed by modern technology. ValueJet is hardly a stranger in the industry, thus all operational insights from previous partnerships have been applied in building our business plan and proposals. We have identified a niche in the sector – the need for fair pricing amidst the rising cost of commercial aviation to the average customer, which is compounded by tough economic realities for air operators”, he said.
The ValueJet boss added that the airline is in a privileged position despite existential economic snags. “We are building a cost-conscious business with an understanding of the sector and how Nigeria is poised to play a key role in developing Africa’s aviation by joining the rest of the global players in regional and international markets”, he stated.
On his part, the Chief Commercial Officer of ValueJet, Trevor Henry, divulged that the airline’s route network will consist of the following: twice daily flights on the Lagos-Abuja-Lagos route; Lagos-Port Harcourt-Lagos-Asaba and Lagos-Jos Lagos route.
He also revealed that plans are underway to expand the above network to include Lagos-Abuja-Kano; Lagos-Benin-Lagos and Lagos-Abuja-Yola.
